The lecture addresses the challenges in presenting and organizing artworks/exhibitions that conceptually or visually mark historical trauma. The wide ranging sensitivities of broad audiences are juxtaposed to curating installations for specific and/or ethnically themed art venues. The lecture presents strategies for installation of thematic content regarding slavery, propaganda, and gentrification and the materiality and haptic power of specific art objects.
